Creativity never sleeps…

The following is a selection of self-initiated work, graphic development and things I just enjoy creating.

animation_words.jpg

I’m not an expert animator but I love experimenting with different techniques.

Case studies are a fantastic way to examine the design process in greater detail.

[ CLieNT - Photosound ]

Project: Laser-cut, foiled, MDF Christmas Trees.

Process: Initial tests with light-weight pulp board proved unsuccessful due to the trees being too fragile. Further experimentation with heavier pulp board ended with several broken dies. Eventually, laser-cut MDF proved the perfect solution. The metallic foil adhered well, the trees snapped out of the frame easily and fitted together perfectly.

[ PERSONAL USE ]

Project:
Exploration Flyers.

Process: Working from initial sketches, these illustrations were built up using multiple layers and textures with varying transparencies and shadows.

[ CLieNT - BALMOND STUDIO ]

Project:
Corporate rebrand.

Process: This was an exhaustive process, working from initial logo sketches inspired by Ammann Tiling, through corporate stationery for two international headquarters, to the creation of extensive brand guidelines and a set of three brochures. Features included black stitching, soft-touch laminate, high-build UV varnish and die-cut business cards.

[ PERSONAL USE ]

Project:
Neon effect Christmas decoration.

Process: This design uses battery powered electroluminescent wire to create a neon effect. A bespoke template was applied to a sheet of 3mm black acrylic and holes were carefully drilled. EL wire was then threaded through the holes before being secured in place with fishing wire and gaffer tape.
